About Me
My name is Mike Wright. Over the course of my life there have been two absolute constants, music and video games. No matter the current fashion/unfashionable trends I was following, my physical condition, or my sleep cycle (which probably contributed to these two constants), I would write music and play games almost every day. Then one day the Responsibility Fairy descended on me and said, "You gotta get a real job ya bum!" (for those that haven't met this person feel lucky). I began thinking how can I move into a career where I can combine my two largest passions! "Think Mike! There has to be a way for you to be involved with music and video games at the same time!" Then like a battering ram to the small intestine it hit me. "I'll make music FOR video games!!" I shouted this out my front door, to the displeasure of my neighborhood.Flash forward to current times and that is indeed what I am doing. All Music Recorded Live With No Sequencing*Knights of the Night - Ambient acoustic guitar theme.Fantasy World - A fantasy sounding piece that was intended for use in a world map section of a RPG-type game.Dodgeball_Gym - I worked on a game demo called Ultimate Dodgeball. They wanted a retro (NES) feeling song. This was for the gym level. Dreamsong* (created with loops) - This song was created with intentions of use in techo-future level. Very ambient. Dark Days Menu - The menu music for Dark Days. A sinister gothic piece intended to create an emotion of uncertainty.Space Menu - The menu music from Codecks. A very ambient theme done using a guitar and an e-bow.Follow Me - A piece from the Digital Dream Forge Yosemite project. A timepiece that had to be in the style of music from 1890.Dark Days Theme - This is the theme to the game demo Dark Days that I worked on. It is a gothic rock song using a full rock band arrangement.Dodgeball Pirate - The dodgeball demo I worked on had a level that took place on a pirate ship. Yarrrr!!Metal Main - This a portion of a metal song used in Codecks.Orchestra Peace - The name really says it all. An orchestral song that is calming and tranquil.Orchestra War - Created for use in a fantasy based RTS game demo.Ol' Chain Gang - This banjo groove was inspired by O' Brother Where Art ThouPiano Ballad - A short piece created for possible use in a "Game Over" screen. Saloon Loop* (features custom drum loop) - Have you ever wondered what would be playing at a hip-hop saloon? No more need to ponder!!
